The Extron PA 250 is a peaking amplifier capable of driving RGB video signals up to 1,000 feet (300 meters). With an RGB video bandwidth of 250 MHz (-3dB), the PA 250 can be used in applications requiring long cable runs and where signal quality is a primary concern. The PA 250 includes features such as sync stripping, sync combining, level, and peaking, enabling it to replace up to four other products.
The level adjustment allows for compensation of signal level loss that occurs over long cable runs, while the peaking adjustment compensates for high frequency loss. The level and peaking control allows for standard 15.75 kHz video (RGB) signals to be driven up to 1,000 feet (304.8 meters), while medium resolution computer-video signals (30-60 kHz) are capable of traveling up to 600 feet (182.9 meters). The PA 250 can also drive high resolution computer-video signals (60-100 kHz) up to 350 feet (109.7 meters) when using high quality cable.
