● Description
The Extron MLS 506MA MediaLink Switcher is an economical, simple-to-use, six input, one output, multi-format active switchers with a mono audio amplifier. Designed for single-projector small classrooms and boardrooms, The MLS 506MA is capable of switching composite video, S-video, component video, computer-video, and audio signals.
The MLS 506MA provides 30 watt (rms), amplified mono audio output for a 4 or 8 ohm load or 70/100 volt, distributed audio systems. The switcher also features an auxiliary line level audio input for mixing with the switched inputs and an effects, loop in/out feature for external signal processing. It can then output the externally processed audio as an amplified signal.
MediaLink Switchers are designed to be used in conjunction with a MediaLink Controller to facilitate low-cost integration. They can also be used as stand-alone switchers.
● Features
- High bandwidth - 350 MHz (-3 dB) video bandwidth maintains signal integrity.
- Triple-Action Switching™ (RGB delay) - Blanks the screen during switching of RGB signals to eliminate visible switching transitions.
- Video inputs - Inputs one through three accept composite video, S-video, and component video. Inputs four through six accept RGB. Both MLS 506 models use BNC connectors to accept all signal formats.
- Video outputs - Outputs composite video, S-video, component video, or RGB on BNC connectors.
- Audio - Balanced or unbalanced stereo audio is input and output on captive screw connectors. The MLS 506MA provides preamp volume control and bass and treble control.
- Audio amplification - The MLS 506MA outputs amplified mono audio on insulated screw terminals and provides 30 watt (rms), amplified mono audio output for a 4 or 8 ohm load or 70/100 volt, distributed audio systems.
- Audio adjustments - Volume plus bass and treble adjustments for each input available. Audio input levels may be adjusted from - 78dB through +24dB of gain and attenuation.
- Front panel security lockout - Allows security lockout of front panel buttons except for input selection and volume adjustment.
- Control - Switcher control is available through front panel buttons, contact closure, or RS-232. RS-232 control is provided via Extron's Windows®-based control software and/or a third party control system using Extron's Simple Instruction Set (SIS™). When the switcher is used with a MediaLink Controller for low-cost system integration, all of the MLS 506MA's I/O switching and volume control can be remotely controlled.
- Rack-mountable - The MLS 506MA is housed in a 2U, full rack width metal enclosure. Mounting brackets are included.
