The Extron TP T 15HD AV computer-video and A/V transmitter accepts computer analog video, NTSC/PAL composite video, PC audio, and stereo audio. It can transmit signals up to 1,000 feet (300 meters) over any CAT 5, 5e, or 6 twisted pair cable or with Extron Enhanced Skew-Free™ A/V UTP cable (patent pending) to Extron twisted pair RGB video and composite video receivers.
The computer-video input of the TP T 15HD AV accepts signals with a 15-130 kHz horizontal scan rate and a 30-150 Hz vertical scan rate. It is compatible with nearly every computer and video signal type, including VGA-UXGA, Mac, Sun®, SGI, component, S-video, and composite. The composite video input is compatible with NTSC, PAL, or SECAM video, as well as digital audio. The TP T 15HD AV features ID bit termination on pins 4 and 11 of its 15-pin HD computer video input, ensuring that computers requiring local monitors will operate correctly if no monitor is installed. Horizontal shift capability for the computer video enables image centering.
When using data grade twisted pair cable for sending high-resolution video signals long distances, a problem called skew can cause a distortion in the image, resulting in visible color separation. Extron offers two options for solving this problem and restoring image quality. The first option is to place an SEQ 100 BNC Skew Equalizer at the receiving end of any cable run where skew is a problem. The second option is to use Extron's Skew-Free™ A/V UTP cable to make system connections.
Optional mount kits allow the TP T 15HD AV interface transmitter to be mounted on a rack shelf, under, or through a desk surface. The through-desk mount keeps inputs and controls accessible while keeping the power and output connections out of sight.
